Judged by Warren Julian and Peter McLean, these lighting awards represent the pinnacle of recognition by the Society towards those that practice lighting design. Considered a significant improvement in the design of an LED troffer, the GenLED One Luminaire offers good light output and low Unified Glare Rating (UGR) and was designed specifically for the International Towers Sydney at Barangaroo NSW.
The ITS project at Barangaroo NSW is now the largest commercial office installation of LED lighting ever undertaken in the Asia Pacific region. The GenLED One is a aesthetic recessed office luminaire that complies with Green Star, UGR and best in class energy efficiency.
The GenLED One luminaire features a row of low output LEDs in the diffused side panels, designed to ease the visual transition from unlit ceiling tiles to the high brightness LED modular cells. The judges describe it as, “not just a box with a light but a very attractive fitting, with good performance, well worthy of this award.”
“It is an absolute honour to take home the Award of Excellence in the International Lighting Design Awards for Australia and New Zealand for our GenLED One Luminaire. We work hard at ensuring all our products maintain award winning standards, and it’s gratifying for the whole Gerard Lighting team when that’s recognised,” said Ben Mills, Executive General Manager, Gerard Lighting.
The Excellence Awards are judged on scheme and any aspects or application that demonstrated particular flare, impact and sympathy to the interior.
